High fructose corn syrup is in almost all processed food. It is in especially large amounts in soft drinks. It is not natural.It is considered by some researchers to be a more serious problem than tobacco was. HFCS is a highly processed sweetner with dangerous diesease promoting characteristics. If table sugar is bad, the bad part is fructose. Table sugar is made from a molecule of glucose linked with a molecule of fructose. In high fructose corn syrup, the fructose is not linked and is available faster when consumed and has been shown to cause extensive damage to the body. Children are especially suseptable, and especially little boys. HFCS has a low glycemic index because it is metabolized differently in the body than glucose. For this reason, it was thought to be a good sustitute for sugar. It bypasses the system in our bodies that tells us that we have eaten something and to stop eating because we are full, so it provides a lot of calories with no signal to stop eating. Fructose is twice as sweet as sugar, is less expensive, and metabolically encourages people to overeat. Some scientists think that the big increase in obesity worldwide -- not just in the US -- is due to the use of HFCS in soft drinks along with increasing inactivity. When you also realize that the tobacco companies now own General Foods, Nabisco, and lots of other food companies, there could seem to be parallel business model of how nicotine led to addiction, and how HFCS in foods is leading to a marketing strategy based on biochemically motivating people to consume more food than is healty for them to eat, and that it will become a hard habit to break, leading to disease heart and liver diesease, as well as overweight. Young males are especially at risk for health problems due to high fructose intake, including liver and cardiovascular problems. Fructose found naturally in fruit is in small amounts and it may be nature's way of making us eat enough fiber. Consuming high amounts of fructose is harmful. Source(s):

東森新聞報 記者何中／綜合報導】 南亞大地震發生至今已經有2個月，但你相信還有生還者從瓦礫堆中被發現嗎？根據巴基斯坦媒體報導指出，一名被活埋2個月的中年婦女，日前在穆薩法拉巴德附近獲救，並送醫治療，目前況狀仍十分虛弱，不過整起事件還有待進一步的確認。

這名獲救的婦女十分憔悴乾瘦，名叫娜格莎貝甘今年40歲。

根據當地媒體報導，她是10日在巴基斯坦所屬的穆薩法拉巴德附近的坎姆薩營地的瓦礫堆中，被親戚發現找到的。

當時她動彈不得，連手臂都難以伸出，加上受困時間太久，部份肌肉都已經凍僵。

這名婦女12日被送往穆薩法拉巴德的醫院接受治療，醫生都認為能存活下來是個奇蹟，目前她的身體還十分虛弱，也只能以流質食物來補充營養。

百分之80的肌肉都僵掉復原需要一段長時間，加上她還有創傷後的憂慮，發生在今年10月8日的南亞大地震，規模達7.6，在巴基斯坦、阿富汗，以及印度造成慘重的災情，估計共奪走超過7萬條性命，這名婦女如果是大地震當時受困，至今已2個月如何能存活，成為許多人心中的疑問，不過由於她還無法開口說話，因此疑問暫時很難獲得解答。

As for our couples, the reaction was mixed. For Saad and Vicky, love was in the air.

While for Nick and Yelena, the drink fell flat.

"I really liked the flavor, on ice it's awesome. But as far as energy, I don't think anything could have kept me up last night."

The makers admit the drink may not work for everyone, but when it does work, they say... It can pack a passion punch.
